Abstract

In WSN energy depletion is one of the prime issues to address, one of the most efficient ways for extending the lifespan of the network is to introduce heterogeneity. Heterogeneous sensor network can be described as a network which contains some special nodes with varying computing power and sensing range. Adding heterogeneity also helps in maintaining the overall load of the network. In order to achieve maximum lifetime placement of such heterogeneous nodes in optimum locations is integral.
