Abstract

The soil model used in a grounding system analysis is one of the most important factors which determines the performance of a grounding system. It is therefore imperative that the electrical resistivity data used to develop the soil model be free of interference from external influences. A method to mitigate the impact of external interference on soil resistivity measurements has been described along with reference cases. The results indicate that the method successfully reduces the interference on a data set and can be applied to any data set when it is not possible to obtain electrical resistivity free from external interference.
