EPA - HERL/RTP: a DBMS application using word processing

Abstract

The article discusses a Management Information System (MIS) developed by the authors, with Intel contractor support, for the Health Effects Research Laboratory, U. S. Environmental Protection Agency, located in the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.The article describes the reasons for choosing SYSTEM 2000 as the data base language, the data base structure, and the application involving a unique mating between a data base, a Hendrix type-reader and the Lanier (LTE-2D) word-processing equipment.
