Journal of Northeast Asia Studies (a bimonthly journal) is an academic and theoretical journal mainly organised by the Institute of Northeast Asian Studies of the Tianjin Academy of Social Sciences (TASAS), using the study of the politics, economy and international relations of the countries in the Northeast Asian region as its main content.
Journal of Northeast Asia Studies (internal journal) was founded in January 2000, and at the end of 2011, Journal of Northeast Asia Studies (bimonthly journal) was approved by the General Administration of Press and Publication of the People's Republic of China for public publication and dissemination, realising the leap from an internal journal to a public journal. Under the strict control of the total number of domestic periodicals, the public publication and distribution of the Journal of Northeast Asia adapts to the needs of the situation of international relations in the Northeast Asian region, which is changing and treacherous, and has received attention from all sides.
In April 2014, Journal of Northeast Asia Studies was listed as a core journal of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) for the scientific research evaluation of innovation project; in May 2016, it was also included as a source journal in the citation database of Chinese Humanities and Social Sciences Journals Evaluation Report (AMI) by China Social Sciences Evaluation Centre of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).
