Chinese Journal of Biological Control, formerly known as Chinese Biological Control and Biological Control Bulletin, was founded in 1985 by academician Qiu Shibang, the pioneer of pest biological control in China, and renamed as Chinese Biological Control in 1995 and Chinese Journal of Biological Control in 2011. It is a national academic journal co-sponsored by the Institute of Plant Protection of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Chinese Society of Plant Protection, and is one of the 500 scientific and technical journals in the Chinese Core Journals, Chinese Science Citation Database, and China Science and Technology Journal Excellence Database.
It publishes research on biological control technology and its mechanism of pests such as insects, viruses, bacteria, fungi, nematodes, weeds, etc. in the fields of agriculture, forestry, aquaculture, health and environmental sciences.
