Torrential Rain and Disaster is the only Chinese academic journal which was founded in 1982 and published publicly at home and abroad. This publication is sponsored by Hubei Meteorological Bureau and Wuhan Rainstorm Research Institute of China Meteorological Administration.
Torrential Rain and Disaster focuses on torrential rain, severe convection and their secondary disasters, and is committed to creating a national, high-level academic exchange platform for torrential rain and its disasters. The target readers mainly include those engaged in scientific research, education and training, decision-making management and related personnel in the fields of meteorology, hydrology, environment and geological disasters.
Torrential Rain and Disaster in 2011 was listed by the State Science and Technology Commission as the core journal of Chinese science and technology (statistical source journal of scientific and technological papers in China), and assessed as the "core journal" by the China Meteorological Administration in the same year.
