The "Journal of Beijing Normal University (Natural Science)", sponsored by Beijing Normal University and supervised by State Ministry of Education, is a general publication for natural science research. The journal organizer pays great attention to quality improvement of both research presentations and editorial work, and tries best to make the journal among the first class scientific periodicals in China and having certain impact abroad. In recent years, 85% of the papers published in the journal are supported by the National Natural Science Fund Committee of China, the National 863 High Technology Project, and other research fund from State Ministry of Education. The journal is among the celebrated scientific periodicals in China, and has been accepted as a journal source by about 30 well known internal or international data bases and abstracts periodicals.

《北京师范大学学报（自然科学版）》创刊于1956年。60多年来，一直致力于对原创作品的首发报道，诸如著名数学家华罗庚院士，周廷儒、汪堃仁、黄祖洽、王梓坤、刘若庄、孙儒泳、刘伯里、郑光美、陈木法、方维海、杨志峰等院士，都曾在此期刊上发表过学术论文。 《北京师范大学学报（自然科学版）》现已被国内外20多个著名数据库或文摘杂志列为固定收录刊源，主要有：中国科学技术信息研究所 “中国科技核心期刊”；中国科学院文献情报中心“中国科学引文数据库（CSCD）核心期刊”；北京大学中文核心期刊要目总览，等等。
