Language Planning is a national academic journal of pedagogy approved by the General Administration of Press and Publication of the People's Republic of China, supervised by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, and organised by Language Publishing House Co. It was founded in 1956 and is published semi-monthly. The domestic uniform issue number of the journal is 11-1399/H, and the international standard issue number is 1001-8476.
The main columns are: new texts, teaching design, new curriculum and new classroom, cases of famous teachers, comprehensive learning, short teaching essays, and moments of innovation. It mainly reports on language dynamics outside China.
Language Planning is a source journal of Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index, a core journal of Chinese humanities and social sciences, a source journal of Peking University's Chinese Core Journals Key List (first edition in 1992, second edition in 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2011, 2014, 2017), and is listed on the China Knowledge Network, Wanfang Data, Wipo Journals and other databases.
