Founded in 1981, Contemporary Youth Studies is the earliest academic journal on youth studies in China with a public publication number, and is currently organized by the Institute of Sociology of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences. Over the years, it has faced the readers with academic and forward-looking, accompanied the course of Chinese youth research, gathered a large number of famous experts and scholars, supported a large number of newcomers in social sciences, and become a solid position and an important platform for youth research in contemporary China. The editorial board has long been focusing on academic innovation, boldly carrying out academic discussions, always maintaining the academic style of the publication of a hundred schools of thought, and constantly improving the academic taste of the publication to keep pace with the times. According to the new requirements of the new era, the editorial board takes Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, Xi Jinping's opinion on the prosperous development of philosophical and social sciences with Chinese characteristics, and Xi Jinping's spirit of “On the Party's Youth Work” as the guideline, and clarifies the three major orientations of “serving the young people, cross-discipline, and Chinese characteristics”, so as to constantly improve the political and academic level of the journal. The academic level of the journal will be continuously improved.
