Chinese Journal of Practical Surgery was founded in 1981. It is a medical and health science and technology journal supervised by the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China, co-sponsored by the Chinese Medical Doctor Association and the China Practical Medicine Journal. The journal's purpose is to be clinical-oriented, practical, and focus on combining theory with practice, and to serve to improve the diagnosis and treatment level of clinical surgeons. The content is mainly general surgery. The journal has columns such as reviews, special topic readings, expert experience readings, surgical experience and skills, case discussions, monographs, lectures and reviews, and surgical procedures. It has been included in the JST Japan Science and Technology Agency Database (2018), Japan's "Science and Technology Literature Express", the United States "Cambridge Scientific Abstracts (Natural Sciences)", Pж (AJ) Russian Abstracts Magazine (2014), and Poland's "Copernicus Index" (IC).
