China Offshore Oil and Gas is a bimonthly academic journal supervised by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) and organised by CNOOC Research Institute Limited, which is openly circulated both at home and abroad, and focuses on the scientific research achievements in the field of exploration, development and engineering of offshore oil and gas. Formerly known as China Offshore Oil & Gas (Geology) and China Offshore Oil & Gas (Engineering), the journal has been combined and renamed since 2004. The journal is committed to promoting academic exchanges and enhancing the level of theory and practice. The academic fields cover oil and gas geological exploration, development and exploitation, drilling and completion engineering, and marine engineering. It is mainly oriented to science and technology workers and university teachers and students, and the columns include oil and gas exploration, development, drilling and extraction engineering, marine engineering, etc., and columns are opened from time to time.
China Offshore Oil and Gas enjoys a number of honours, being recognised as a core journal of China Science Citation Database (CSCD), a national Chinese core journal, a core journal of Chinese science and technology, and a core academic journal of RCCSE China (Class A).
