Solar Energy is the first and only publicly published national solar energy professional science and technology magazine in China, which is supervised by the China Association for Science and Technology and sponsored by the China Renewable Energy Society (formerly the China Solar Energy Society). The journal was founded in 1980. It is not only the official media of the China Renewable Energy Society, but also the mainstream media of China's new energy and renewable energy industry. It has been committed to popularizing scientific and technological knowledge in the field of renewable energy; promoting national renewable energy industry policies and conducting market analysis; reporting the latest developments in science and technology and industry at home and abroad, displaying scientific and technological research results, promoting new technologies and new products, and vigorously supporting excellent national enterprises to implement brand strategies, thus promoting the development of my country's renewable energy industry.

《太阳能》杂志是由中国科协主管，中国可再生能源学会（原中国太阳能学会）主办的、国内外公开发行的、国内第一份，也是目前唯一一份公开出版的国家级太阳能专业科技杂志。该期刊创办于1980年,不仅是中国可再生能源学会的官方媒体，也是中国新能源与可再生能源行业的主流媒体。 期刊的宗旨为“以推动太阳能科技创新，打造太阳能阳光品牌”，一直致力于可再生能源领域的科学技术知识普及；宣传国家可再生能源产业政策并进行市场分析；报道国内外科技与产业最新发展动态，展示科学技术研究成果，推广新技术与新产品，大力支持优秀民族企业实施品牌战略，推动了我国可再生能源产业发展。
