Social Science Research is a comprehensive academic and theoretical journal of humanities and social sciences sponsored by the director of the Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences and publicly issued at home and abroad. It was founded in March 1979. It mainly publishes research papers on economics, political science, law, sociology, philosophy, history, literature, and emerging cross disciplines. It is one of the important windows for China's humanities and social sciences to show outstanding achievements at home and abroad.
The articles published by Social Science Research are of high quality, with many citations and reprints, ranking among the top in the domestic journal evaluation system. In the Chinese Social Science Citation Index (CSSCI) source journals (2014-2015), a total of the top 50 comprehensive social science journals were selected, and "Social Science Research" continuously ranked among them; The "Overview of Chinese Core Journals" (2014) selected 122 journals (including university journals) as comprehensive humanities and social science core journals, with "Social Science Research" ranking 21st; The Compendium of China's Core Journals of Humanities and Social Sciences (2013) selected the top 116 comprehensive humanities and social sciences journals, and Social Science Research ranked 23rd; The Evaluation Report of Chinese Humanities and Social Sciences Journals (2014) included 187 comprehensive humanities and social sciences journals, and Social Science Research was rated as the core journal, ranking 20th.
