Iron & Steel magazine was founded in 1954. It is supervised by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), sponsored by the China Metallurgical Society, the China Iron and Steel Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Beijing Steel Research Baiyuan Publishing Co., Ltd., and is publicly distributed at home and abroad. The purpose of this journal is to implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech "Write papers on the land of the motherland", face production and combine reality; insist on serving the production and construction of China's steel industry, reporting on the scientific and technological achievements of the steel industry, technological progress in production processes, improvement of product quality, development and application of new technologies and new products, and professional theoretical application research, so as to improve the scientific and technological level of scientific and technological workers and managers in the steel industry and promote the development of the steel industry. The main columns include expert forums, comprehensive discussions, raw materials and ironmaking, steelmaking, pressure processing, steel materials, energy and environmental protection, metallurgical process engineering, cutting-edge technology, equipment technology, technical exchanges, etc.

《钢铁》杂志创刊于1954年，由中国科学技术协会（CAST）主管，中国金属学会、钢铁研究总院有限公司和北京钢研柏苑出版有限责任公司主办，国内外公开发行。 该期刊的宗旨是贯彻落实习近平总书记“把论文写在祖国的大地上”的重要讲话精神，面向生产、结合实际；坚持为中国钢铁工业生产建设服务，报道钢铁工业的科技成就、生产工艺的技术进步、品种质量的改善提高、新技术新产品的开发应用和专业理论应用研究等，以提高钢铁行业科技工作者和管理人员的科技水平，促进钢铁工业的发展。设置的主要栏目有专家论坛、综合论述、原料与炼铁、炼钢、压力加工、钢铁材料、能源与环保、冶金流程工程、前沿技术、装备技术、技术交流等。
