World Geology (ISSN 1004-5589/CN22-1111/P) was founded by the former Changchun Institute of Geology in 1982. It is now sponsored by the Northeast Asia International Geoscience Research and Teaching Center of Jilin University, and edited by Professor Sun Ge, a famous paleontologist. It is an influential geoscience academic journal and was selected as a core scientific journal in China in 2004. The readers are scientific and technological workers, undergraduates and postgraduates engaged in geoscience research. It mainly reports on basic theoretical research and applied research results in the field of geoscience, and gives priority to publishing cutting-edge, innovative and pioneering research results. By the end of 2009, 28 volumes (112 issues in total) had been published. The main columns include basic geology, ore deposits, energy geology, hydrology, environment, engineering geology, geophysics, engineering technology, testing technology, etc. The purpose of the journal is to track the frontiers of geoscience, timely reflect new discoveries, new theories and new results in the field of global geoscience, and promote the development of geoscience.
