Medical staff, who have maintained the first line against the viral catastrophe throughout the pandemic, are not invulnerable. Aim: To highlight mental health problems among health care providers. Results: Recent studies have reported elevated rates of mental health problems among health care providers. Generalized anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, serial suicidal attempts and migration are some of the negative consequences reported in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Conclusions: Supportive measures like reducing working hours to a reasonable level, recruiting well-trained therapists to counsel medical personnel, giving occasional breaks, and reducing the rate of health-centre visits are highly recommended.
