Is shown, that tenfold radial compression is possible in Z-/spl Theta/ pinch geometry. In frameworks of 1.5-D equations in MGD approximation the perspectives of D-T plasma ignition are analyzed at quasi-adiabatic compression by a longitudinal magnetic field of Z-/spl Theta/ pinch.
