The scanned x-ray image is digitized, matched with previously saved image in the database using Cosine Metric Algorithm. Also, it saves new entry for unmatched image. A printed copy of the procedure can be generated for the dentist’ and patient’s record. It is a system composed of hardware and software. The hardware consists of customized dental x-ray, control unit, monitor and printer. The software uses operating system and hardware drivers, and VB.Net to match the scanned image to the available one in the database.
