Among Paleozoic taxa, only diadectomorphs appear to be related to amniotes. In contrast to previous hypotheses, lissamphibians appear to have been derived from lepospondyls. Seymouriamorphs, gephyrostegids, embolomeres, temnospondyls, and loxommatids are stem-tetrapods.
