This article argues that it was carved by the Sighraf workshop which operated around the year 1200. Even though the Sighraf workshop carved mainly baptismal fonts, it is known to have worked on local commissions, such as the Lye Reliquary and the Sproge and the Eke graveslabs. Several features of the Grotlingbo graveslab, such as the style, the iconography, particular motifs, the runic inscription and the type of stone used are examined in relation to other works carved by the Sighraf workshop.
