Experts have confi rmed that this infection is currently the main etiological factor of gastric cancer. Its eradication leads to regression of atrophic changes in the gastric mucosa and reduces the risk of development of gastric cancer. This makes it necessary to implement the population program “test and treat” for the purpose of cancer prevention and to include it among the priorities of healthcare.
