Based on the investigation and statistical data, it was established that integrated domestic water consumption ranged between 30 and 120 L/cap.d in Beijing rural area. Most of the villages had developed underground water for residential use. More than 97% of the villages that had a surface water source had a contamination problem. More than 81% of villages with a constructed pipeline had an aged or corroded water supply pipe system, along with partial or even serious pipe leaks. 29.5% of all the villages have a decentralized water supply system and 70.5% have a centralized water supply as well. The centralized water supply system service rate reaches 78.7% of villages in all, and the tap beneficial rate is 95.7% The water of above 97% villages does not meet the requirements of the Drinking Water Sanitation Standard, thus the problem of the instability of water quality should be addressed. If a reconstruction and improvement strategy were to be made, the water source, water distribution system, water supply mode, water quality and water pressure would be highlighted.
