The mostcommon fungal infection encountered by a dentist is Candida species.Nowadays there is an increased prevalence of non candidal fungal infectionswhich is also manifested in the oral cavity. The usual oral manifestation ofsuch infections comprises ulcers, pseudo-membranes, abscesses, pustulesand extensive tissue necrosis involving bone.
