The global beverage industry is supposed to touch the mark of $1.9 trillion by 2020 (Amit and Sirshendu, 2019).Due to high demand of some beverages and food, a lot of fraud has been identified in beverages. The adulterants in beverages can be classified as targeted, non-targeted and economical motivated according to Jeffrey; Pfeifer; Kendra; Majors and Ronald (2014), which maintained that the use of some non-chromatography techniques such as Mid – Infrared (MIR) and near Infrared(NIR) has yielded a good result in the detection of counterfeits beverage.
