The Presence of Little-Known Flea Caenopsylla laptevi laptevi (Insecta: Siphonaptera) in Turkey with a Re-Description Outside the Type Locality
ABSTRACT The presence of the little-known flea Caenopsylla laptevi laptevi Mikulin & Zagniborodova, 1958 is reported for the first time in Turkey. All known hosts and distribution reports of C. laptevi laptevi are outlined and the significance of the new record is discussed. Also, re-descriptions of male and female of C. laptevi laptevi based on Turkish specimens are given. All specimens (three males and two females) of C. laptevi laptevi were collected from a European brown hare, Lepus europaeus Pallas, 1778, which represents a new host record.

Contributions are accepted on any of the aspects of systematics and taxonomy of insects. This includes: taxonomic revisions, phylogenetics, biogeography and faunistics, and descriptive morphology of insects. Taxonomic papers describing single species are acceptable if such a study is sufficiently justified, however, comprehensive studies that provide a comparative, integrated study of insect systematics and taxonomy will get priority.
