The influence of prominal on thyroid function in the rat.
The experiments show the rather surprising fact that prominal does not depress, but enhance the I131 uptake of the thyroid gland. The radioactivity of the gland was determined by in vitro measurements.
Further we used an apparatus constructed in our laboratory for the determination of thyroid activity in the living rat.
The results obtained in this way are discussed.
