Their functional purpose, composition of woody plants, architectural features are analyzed. A significant part of the garden squares (50 %) is intended for family recreation, others are used for pedestrians and short-term recreation. The plantings contain both native and introduced plants. The Square named after the 40th anniversary of the Victory has the largest area (3,9 hectares), the smallest one is the Square named after the 150th anniversary of Ussuriysk and the square on Chicherin Street, 77 (0,2 hectares each). Rectangular garden squares predominate.
