Software Defined Networking (SDN) is a technology that comes with a proposal of flexibility and agility for the communication networks, which fits with the challenges of Industry 4.0, it searches for these requirements throughout the manufacturing process of its products. While industrial evolution is a worldwide trend, Energy Efficiency in industry plays a key role in environmental sustainability and economic performance of the industry. This article presents the APIs using the SDN paradigm to achieve Energy Efficiency applied to Industry 4.0.
