The review approaches on the characteristics of each phytochemical and its benefits to human health. It was observed that the by-products of passion fruit contain a range of interesting substances, and for their recovery the application of environmentally friendly extraction techniques, such as supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) and pressurized liquid extraction (PLE), are suggested as single or sequential procedures.
