By taking the specific properties of the berberine, this review describes the method mentioned in the literature regarding the berberine extraction. Furthermore, many experimental and clinical studies suggest that berberine has several pharmacological activities such as antioxidative, cardioprotective, nephroprotective, and hepatoprotective effect.
