Aluminophosphate-hosted cobalt complexes were obtained by impregnating VPI-5 with Co(saloph). Co(saloph) encapsulated into AlPO<sub>4</sub>-8 was obtained by the structural transformation of VPI-5 occluding Co(saloph) into AlPO<sub>4</sub>-8. These complexes were characterized by XRD, and IR, <sup>31</sup>P NMR and UV-VIS-NIR spectroscopy. The encapsulated complexes do not undergo any significant structural distortions in either case.
