In May 2015, the Journal of Professional Communication’s senior associate editor, Dr. Terry Flynn, sat down with Stephen Waddington, Partner and Chief Engagement Officer with Ketchum and past-president of the Chartered Institute for Public Relations in the United Kingdom (UK) to discuss and reflect upon his perspectives on the future of the profession and the challenges that are on the horizon for practitioners and current students of the profession. Waddington discussed how his formative training as an engineer in the UK has helped him to create new systems and processes to better understand and manage the multifaceted challenges that organizations now face within the public arena.
