Studi Pendahuluan: Gambaran Dukungan Sosial dan Dampak Gejala Fibromyalgia pada Kualitas Hidup Penyintas Sindrom Fibromyalgia di Indonesia

This study measured the phenomenon of fibromyalgia affects the daily lives of survivors, as well as the available social support and the impact to quality of life of the Indonesian fibromyalgia survivors. ‘‘Other soft tissue disorders, not elsewhere classified.’’ These pains are defined as diffused, persistent and intense burnings. They engender a reduction in functional abilities, changing over time, and are perceived differently by individuals (Biccheri et al., 2016) . The selected participants were 16 people aged 23-71 years old. The results showed that the average fibromyalgia impact on the quality of life experienced by research participants included in the category of moderate (M=113.82), and the average survivors had moderate social support (M=64.9) and the number of significant others were little (M=65.76). Further research needs to be undertaken to identify aspects of trust in the closest people who play a role in survivors' social support. Quality of life needs to be focused as the most prominent psychosocial problem in survivors' health.
