The potential vector of this disease is the Anopheles sp. This study aimed to test the effectiveness of the ethanol extract of the red bajakah root (Spatholobus littoralis hassk) as an antimalarial in vitro against Plasmodium falciparum. This research is an experimental study with Posttest Only with Control Group Design and consists of 6 treatment groups: 5 extract concentrations, namely concentrations of 0,391 μg/ml, 0,781 μg/ml, 1,562 μg/ml, 3,125 μg/ml, 6,25 μg/ml and a solution DMSO as a negative control. The treatment was carried out with 3 replications. Based on the results of research and data processing, the ethanolic extract of the red bajakah root (Spatholobus littoralis hassk) has effectiveness as an antimalarial against Plasmodium falciparum with an IC50 value of14,877 g/ml which is included in the active category.
