Thus, in the first part of the paper, the working principles, the applied methodology, the criteria for selecting the methodology, and the necessary resources are presented, and later the results obtained from the case study from the limestone quarry in Bistrița, Vâlcea are presented. At the same time, the environmental, relief and accessibility conditions in the mining perimeters were identified and practical recommendations were issued regarding the execution of a photogrammetric data acquisition flight in the surface mining operations in the mountain area.
