Determining Validity and Reliability of Turkish version of Selfitis Behavior Scale
Abstract Objective: The aim of the study was to determine the validity and reliability of Turkish version of Selfitis Behavior Scale (SBS). Method: This methodologic study was carried out in Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty, Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa. The sample size was calculated to be at least 10 times the number of items in the scale. Participants’ sociodemographic characteristics, control frequency of some social media tools, number of selfie photos, SBS Scale and Social Media Addiction Scale -Adult Form were conducted. In order to test the construct validity of the scale, factor analysis was applied and the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin coefficient and Barlett Test result were calculated than confirmatory factor analysis was performed. In order to evaluate the reliability of the scale, item total score correlation, internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha) and test-retest correlation were used. Results: Of the participants 59.1% was male. The mean of age was 23.09±1.68 (range 22-37) years. According to the factor analysis, it was observed that the structure consisting of 6 factors explained 62.23% of the total change in SBS scores. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient was determined to be 0.961. There was a positive correlation between the scores of SAMAS-AF and SBS scores (r: 0.444; p
