Pakistan, one of these countries, has struggled to emerge from the legacies of colonialism. The situation demands strong support of equality, social justice, and the rule of law among youth and adolescents, including college students. Libraries can play a role in exploring these issues with students through pleasure reading.Punjab University Library, the oldest and largest university library in Pakistan, started a book club program in January 2018 to encourage reading among its users. The Punjab University Library Book Club is now a well-recognized intellectual and social activity, and other Pakistani libraries have started similar book groups.
