An isolate of the extract was acetylated giving monoacetyl and diacetyl derivatives. Analysis of these derivatives led to the elucidation of the xanthone 1,3,7-trihydroxy-2,4-bis(3-methylbut-2-enyl)-9H-xanthen-9-one.
