The article considers the current state of strategic planning in the practice of manufacturing industries of the Russian Federation. The review of the main directions of the state industrial policy in relation to manufacturing industries in the field of strategic planning is given, as well as the key challenges and opportunities for the development of this activity in Russia are considered, the state of the manufacturing industry at the national level is assessed on the basis of statistical reports. We hope scholars from around the world will contribute to this initiative, and we have provided a simple and immediate way to submit an essay, a review article or a note. Perspectives on Federalism will publish original contributions from different disciplinary viewpoints as the subject of federalism requires. Papers submitted will undergo a process of double blind review before eventually being accepted for publication.
