In order to effectively extract the vibration signal characteristic quantity, the vibration signal of the circuit breaker is firstly analyzed theoretically as a series of simple harmonic superposition formation. For the characteristics of randomness and non-smoothness of the vibration signal, VMD (Variational Mode Decomposition) is recommended for calculation and analysis. The concept of quality factor is introduced to optimize the VMD.
