Notice of RetractionPreparative Separation and Bioactivity of Flavonoids from Prunella Vulgaris Linn
The characteristics of macroporous adsorption resins with different polarity on adsorption and isolation property of total flavonoids from Prunella Vulgaris Linn were performed by static and dynamic adsorption tests. Subsequently, the free radical and antimicrobial capacity of purified flavonoids were also evaluated. The results exhibited that AB-8 resin had higher absorption and desorption capacity. The optimum technology parameters of adsorption and separation were sample solution volume 3BV, sample solution concentration 1.6 mg/ml, velocity of flow 6BV/h. Adsorbted total flavonoids could be desorbed by 70% alcohol at flow rate 6BV/h, dosage 6BV. Compared to the 41.58% of total flavonoids in crude extracts, the recovery and purity of total flavonoids were 92.36% and 89.09% respectively. The DPPH radical scavenging activity of purified flavonoids was similar to antiscorbic acid which was much higher than that of butylated hydroxytoluene. It aslo had strong antimicrobial activity on Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli (the diameters of the antimicrobial circle were 23.4mm and 21.2mm respectively). But it had no effect on Yeast and Aspergillus niger.
