Âge et cicatrisation

Avec une population vieillissante, les praticiens sont de plus en plus souvent confrontés aux problèmes de cicatrisation chez le patient âgé comportant des spécificités. L’objectif de cet article est d’aborder dans un premier temps, le vieillissement cutané et ses conséquences sur la cicatrisation, puis les troubles de la cicatrisation consécutive au vieillissement cutané et enfin les comorbidités fréquentes dans cette population pouvant entrainer des troubles de la cicatrisation. Du fait de ces spécificités, la cicatrisation chez le sujet âgé est souvent complexe, et doit être pluridisciplinaire pour permettre une prise en charge optimum.

Proportion of elderly individuals in the population has steadily increased worldwide: practitioners are now often confronted to wound healing and its specificities in elderly patients. The objective of this article is to address skin aging and its consequences on skin healing, disorders of skin healing due to dermatoporosis and specific comorbidities of the elderly that can cause wound healing perturbation. Because of these specificities, management of the skin healing in the elderly is often complicated and should therefore be based on collaboration between the dermatologists, the dermatologists and the nurses.
