The reasons for that are the constant development of the electric grid infrastructure and the growth of generating capacities. Breaking capacity of a large amount of switching equipment does not correspond to the calculated levels of short-circuit currents. Replacement of existing circuit breakers is expensive, because of which it is advisable to consider alternative technical solutions, including the implementation of the stationary sectioning of the electric network, which in turn requires consideration of a number of criteria for influencing the power system mode.
