Various methods and techniques have been used to obtain the best possible results for optimal DG placement so far with varying objectives and outcomes. This paper gives an overview of the research and development of the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm for the optimal distributed generation placement (ODGP) problems, examining and segregating the several models and methods in this field.
