The Schwäbisch Gmünd Prize for Young Scientists 2023
The Schwäbisch Gmünd Prize for Young Scientists has been awarded for the seventh time. This year, the prize is given to Dr Donghoon Kim (Figure 1) who is at the Multi-Scale Robotics Lab (MSRL), Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Systems (IRIS), ETH (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) Zürich, Switzerland. The prize is awarded based on the scientific work presented in the paper entitled ‘Magnetoelectric Effect in Hydrogen Harvesting: Magnetic Field as a Trigger of Catalytic Reactions’. The prize is given with the purpose of encouraging promising young scientists within surface technology to continue their career in the spirit of EAST, which means to contribute to integration, understanding and friendship between European people and individuals, which in the present situation is more important than ever. An invited talk will be given in connection with the Prize ceremony at the forthcoming European Academy of Surface Technology (EAST) Forum 2023, which is integrated with the 15th International Workshop on Electrodeposited Nanostructures (EDNANO), 15–18 November 2023 in Metz, France (www.szfki.hu/ednano/).
