Spanish Tercios. Part 1. On the Eve of the Big Game

Статья посвящена военным реформам Фернандо и Изабеллы Католических, проведенным в 1495–1497 годах. Автор подчеркивает, что в отечественной исторической литературе есть серьезная лакуна, касающаяся исследований по истории испанских терций, в частности, и истории испанской армии в целом. В статье он анализирует т.н. «военные ордонансы» Фернандо II и делает вывод, что королям-католикам удалось заложить фундамент армии нового типа, ставшей, в итоге, предшественницей терций. The article is devoted to the military reforms of Fernando and Isabella the Catholic, carried out in 1495–1497. The author emphasizes that there is a serious lacuna in the Russian historical literature concerning research on the history of the Spanish Tercios as well as history of the Spanish army in general. In the article, author analyzes the so-called «military ordinances» of Fernando II and concludes that the Catholic kings managed to lay the foundation of a new type of army, which eventually became the predecessor of the tercios.
