A tough membrane believed to be Liliequist's membrane isolated the space immediately beneath floor of the third ventricle from the cistern below. Cerebrospinal fluid pulsation appeared after fenestration of this membrane. These obstructions presumably resulted from congenital and/or inflammatory causes.
