Simopone yunnanensis sp. nov. – the first record of Simopone Forel, 1891 from China (Hymenoptera, Formicidae, Cerapachyinae)
The genus Simopone in the subfamily Cerapachyinae is recorded in China for the first time with description of a new species, S. yunnanensis sp. nov.. The new species is closely related to S. oculata Radchenko 1993, but differs distinctly from the latter. An identification key based on worker caste is provided to the grandidieri-group species.
