By using the (pseudo) inverse matrix of a joint demosaicing and color-to-gray conversion, the proposed decoder can recover the color image from its corresponding gray image data which is losslessly transmitted by the proposed encoder. Thus, LS/NLS color image reconstruction can be achieved while saving a bit rate significantly.
