Zhang, Changzhu Li","doi":"10.1109/ICMREE.2013.6893682","DOIUrl":null,"url":null,"abstract":"In the present work, biodiesel feedstock from Swida wilsoniana fruit oil was catalyzed by BrΦnsted acidic ionic liquid of 1-(4-sulfonic acid)butyl-pyridinium hydrosulfate. The ionic liquid was synthesized with acetone as solvent. The functions of ionic liquid catalyst dosage, mole ratio of methanol to Swida wilsoniana oil, reaction temperature and reaction time on process and ionic liquid properties were investigated. The transesterification characteristics were improved by that ionic liquid. The optimal transesterification conditions were shown as n(methanol)/n (Swida wilsoniana oil) 12, m(catalyst)/m(Swida wilsoniana oil) 0.06, reaction temperature 160 °C and reaction time 6 h, transesterification rate reach 94.0%. The ionic liquid was stable, which can be reused more than six times.
